Uganda is a powerhouse of both species. We process and export screen-graded Robusta and high-grown Arabica - washed (Wugar) and natural (Drugar) - to buyers worldwide.
Uganda is one of the world's leading Robusta origins. After milling, beans are graded by screen size - each screen number is the hole size in sixty-fourths of an inch. A bean that stays on a Screen 18 sieve is at least 18/64″ (about 7.1 mm) across.
A larger screen number means larger, more uniform beans, better prices, and more consistent roasting. Every Karaz lot is screen-graded, hand-checked for defects, and documented before export.
The largest beans at around 7.1mm - the most uniform and sought after, ideal for buyers who want clean, high quality lots. SC 18 commands the strongest prices and roasts with exceptional evenness.
Medium to large beans at around 6.0mm - dependable and well balanced, with broad demand and good value. SC 15 is the backbone of commercial roasting: consistent enough for quality blends, priced for volume programmes.
Smaller beans at around 4.8mm that still meet export standard. A good value grade often used in blends and functional coffee applications - instant coffee, extracts, and price-sensitive blends that still need genuine Uganda Robusta character.
Match the right coffee to your market.

Beyond Robusta, we source and prepare Uganda's high-grown Arabica. Grown on volcanic mountain slopes in the west, along the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo, and on Mount Elgon in the east, between roughly 1,500 and 2,200 metres, these lots carry the acidity, sweetness, and complexity that specialty buyers look for.
We offer Arabica in two processing styles. The names tell you how the coffee was prepared: Wugar (Washed Uganda Arabica) and Drugar (Dry Uganda Arabica).
Three Arabica grades, sorted by screen size and process, for every specialty programme.
The top washed grade. Screen 17/18 - the largest and most uniform Arabica beans, the East African "AA". The brightest, cleanest cup with the most pronounced acidity. The choice for single-origin specialty.
A blend of A (screen 15/16) and B (13/14) beans. Slightly smaller than AA, but a popular, well-priced premium grade with a balanced, sweet, rounded cup. The workhorse of specialty blends.
Dry Uganda Arabica - cherry sun-dried whole. Full-bodied, deeply sweet and wine-like, with fruit-forward character. Ideal for naturals programmes and blends that need extra body and sweetness.
